[OSENWORLD] K-Pop Demon Hunters isn’t just a global streaming sensation—it’s rewriting Billboard history.
According to Billboard’s official website on July 21 (local time), “GOLDEN,” the standout original track from Netflix’s animated feature K-Pop Demon Hunters, is projected to debut at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated July 26. The song climbs two spots from the previous week, continuing its meteoric rise.
This marks a major milestone, as “GOLDEN” surpasses the peak position of Disney’s Frozen anthem “Let It Go,” which famously peaked at No. 5 on the Hot 100 in 2014, during the height of the film’s global popularity.
Until now, only original songs from Disney animated films have charted higher. These include classics like Aladdin’s “A Whole New World” (No. 1 in 1993), The Lion King’s “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” (No. 4 in 1994), and Pocahontas’s “Colors of the Wind” (No. 4 in 1995). Most recently, Encanto’s viral hit “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” reached No. 1 in 2022, becoming Disney’s first animated chart-topper in 29 years.

With “GOLDEN” continuing its upward momentum, global fans are now watching to see whether K-Pop Demon Hunters can make history as the first non-Disney animated film to top the Hot 100 with an original song.
The animated action-fantasy film, now streaming on Netflix, follows a fictional K-pop girl group called Huntress—composed of Rumi, Mira, and Joi—who use the power of their voices and electrifying performances to fight demonic forces hidden behind the glitz of the stage.

Blending K-pop spectacle with Korean mythology, the film has struck a chord with audiences worldwide. Songs like “Your Idol” and “Soda Pop” have also charted on Billboard, further cementing the film’s growing cultural impact.
